Towards Better Reasoning with Large Language Models
摘要
Reasoning, a cornerstone of human intelligence, is integral to problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking. However, in natural language processing, early efforts have struggled to reason based on prior knowledge or given information. With the advent of Large Language Models (LLMs), there is an emerging consensus that these models may possess latent reasoning abilities. This talk will present an overview of the current understanding of reasoning within LLMs. We will then explore recent advancements in evoking and improving reasoning capabilities within LLMs and beyond, through the integration of external knowledge. More importantly, the enhancement of reasoning capabilities in LLMs paves the way for many real-world applications (e.g. generative search engines, code generation), effectively positioning LLMs as the next-generation computation platform. This transformation has the potential to revolutionize human-machine interactions and reshape the computational ecosystem.
