Visual Analytics for Intelligent Decision Support
*Students who enroll in DSAA 6102 please attend the seminar in classroom.
ABSTRACT
In recent years, the widespread application of data analysis techniques has enabled the inspection, understanding, and prediction of the behaviors of individuals and groups within massive datasets, which has provided new insights for human understanding of society and the world and for optimizing social governance. However, the black-box nature of automated analysis models has limited users' understanding of the mechanisms and predictions of the models, thereby affecting trust in the models. This talk will tackle the challenges in decision support and explore how visual analysis approaches can help decision-makers build and optimize models. Additionally, we will discuss how these approaches can assist in making decisions based on model predictions.
